When we are student practicing to be a professor we try to do our best, but sometime we are not clear what kind of method we are using to teach. In my case I do not have enough experience in teaching. From this chapter I learn that I would use a cognitive processes because is one of the most using in my country actually. But also, I would use a combination processes because that depends where I am teaching. That does depend of the culture, economic, and others situations.
I can say that depend in how I feel, If I feel well, (emositional or tired) I will be a freewriter. That’s mean that I will write what I like to write and what I what to say about that specific topic, but if I do not feel very well I prefer be an outliner, because I will need ideas to write about something.
We have different attitude in different situation, working in group is not my strong attitudes because some people do not work and let the others do everything. And collaborative work I try to do my best and do as much I can. Working in groups sometimes is difficult because we cannot have the same idea, sometime can be easier to do a job or do something if everybody works together and help each other. One thing we have to take in account is that in collaborative groups everybody share ideas and discus them.
The new ideas I found in this chapter about rhetoric was references, literary, persuasive, and expressive. The idea that interest me wad rhetoric because student will write about what they like, but thinking in the reader and the language. Also, student will have the ability to explain, argue and explore; focus in the purpose of compose.
Maxine Hairston labels “the revolution in the teaching witting,” and propose new twelve paradigms that was a shift the traditional literature-based teaching of composition. Which I like more is the number 3 (it is based on rhetoric, audience purpose, and occasion figure prominently in the assignment of writing task.) In addition, students should think why they would write, to whom they will write, and what kind of event they will do it. So, students should be prepared to write about everything and everywhere.
On other hands, computers class can helps students. I do agree with use them into writing compositions and others. Sometime students are lazier using a computer, but if we can see computers helps students to correct their mistake (not all of them.) We us a professor can say that computer correct everything and is easier for them, but computer correct some mistakes and students need to change that corrections, so, that mean that students can see which is their own mistake. Using computers make a best environment because actually learners love technologies; students will feel motivates doing what they like at the same time they will be working in class.
I do not have any experience with writing across the curriculum WAC).
Advantages of WAC
1.Writing intensive: which will help student learn easier and faster
2.Write to learn: write about some topics and subjects to learn about it and to practice writing.
3.Pre-write: These will active their background knowledge.
Disadvantage:
1. It is limited
2. Not all students learn by this way
As a professor we should motivate student to be motive in what they are doing.
